<p>PURPOSE: To treat newly cut part of a plant so that the plant part such as potato and tomato can be stored without causing deterioration, decrease in the flavor or changes in the color for a long time by dipping the cut part of the plant in a specified soln. at an environment temp. CONSTITUTION: A newly cut part of a plant is dipped in a water-base soln. at an environmental temp. The soln. consists of (A) about 0.25 to 1% antioxidant, (B) about 0.5 to 2% metal ion sealing agent comprising alkali metal acid polyphosphate, (C) about 0.25 to 1% acid agent and (D) about 0.5 to 2% inorg. chloride enzyme inhibitor. As for the components (A) to (D), ascorbic acid, acid sodium pyrophosphate, fumaric acid and calcium chloride are preferably used, respectively.</p> |
