Hazard warning system for a vehicle, in particular an industrial truck, having at least one sensor which detects the appearance of an object or a person in a specific area, e.g. in front of or behind the vehicle, and produces an appropriate alarm signal. A clock generator (3) produces a continuous pulse signal which is applied on the one hand directly to an input of a flip-flop circuit (6) and on the other hand to another input of the flip-flop circuit (6) via the sensor (M). In the event of the signals corresponding, the flip-flop circuit (6) produces a corresponding pulse chain which is amplified and rectified (Figure 2).
