PURPOSE: To prevent an irregularity in the illuminance of a diffusion plate and an irregularity in color light of radiant light from being generated with simple constitution by adhering a reflecting film onto the surface of a fluorescent lamp as the back light on the side of a diffusion plate. CONSTITUTION: The reflecting film 6 is adhered onto the surface of the glass bulb 5 of the fluorescent lamp 3 on the side of the diffusion plate 4. Therefore, light which is projected directly on the diffusion layer 4 as to light emitted by the fluorescent lamp 3 is light transmitted through the reflecting film 6 and the transmissivity of the reflecting film 6 to visible light can be varied with the distance between the fluorescent lamp 3 and diffusion layer 4. In general, the transmissivity is about 50%, so light which is diffused by the diffusion plate 4 and emitted out becomes uniform in illuminance to provide preferable lighting. Light which is emitted to the opposite side of the fluorescent lamp 3 from the diffusion plate 4 is emitted directly by the glass bulb 5 since the reflecting film 6 is not present on the opposite side of the glass bulb 5 of the fluorescent lamp 3 from the diffusion plate 4, and then reflected by the reflecting plate 2 of the display device 1 and projected on the diffusion plate 4. Consequently, the light emitted by the diffusion plate 4 has neither the irregularity in illuminance nor the irregularity of colors and high-illuminance uniform light emission becomes possible. |
