METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MONITORING SPUN YARN IN OE SPINNING UNIT

PURPOSE: To obtain a desired operating amount for improving the future spun yarn from comparison result by measuring diameter values correlating to longitudinal axis of yarn, storing the diameter values in memory, comparing the measured values with comparison values. CONSTITUTION: A yarn signal pickup 21 measures diameter values of the yarn lengths 23 and 24 located upstream and downstream of the spun yarn and stores the measured diameter values relative to the length and transfers the memory content to a mean value former 29 and a comparator 30. The comparison values are fed to a device 35 and control amounts for improving the spun yarn profile of future spun yarns are derived.
