PURPOSE:To obtain a polyion complex gel which can be prepd. easily in large quantities, is rich in moldability and gives a molded item such as a film which is uniform and has large strengths, by dissolving carboxymethylstarch and chitosan in an aq. formic acid soln., mixing them and removing the solvent. CONSTITUTION:Carboxymethylstarch and chitosan are dissolved in an aq. formic acid soln. and mixed and thereafter the solvent is removed therefrom. It is pref. that the concn. of formic acid in the aq. soln. used for preparing a polyion complex is 5wt.% or higher. The polyion complex can be suitably applied to foods, cosmetics, medicines and medical supplies by virtue of its safety. |
