PURPOSE:To obtain high resolving power by measuring the temp. of a coupling solution and always monitoring the sonic velocity value of the coupling solution. CONSTITUTION:Transducers 4-1-4-5 are driven by pulsers 5-1-5-5 and emit ultrasonic waves to the interior of a living body 1 through a coupling solution 3 and an acoustic window 2. The ultrasonic signals reflected from the interior of the living body 1 are converted to electric signals by the transducers 4-1-4-5 to be inputted to an adder 9 through preamplifiers 6-1-6-5 and receiving delay circuits 8-1-8-5. The output of the adder 9 is inputted to an image memory 15 through a logarithmic amplifier 11, a detection circuit 12, an A/D converter 13 and a sample holding circuit 14. The control signal for determining the sampling timing in the sample holding circuit 14 is sent from a sampling position control circuit 17. This control signal is determined from the coupling sonic velocity value converted from the value of the temp. sensor 19 mounted in the coupling solution. |
