In the continuous casting process for making steel pipes, using fusible powders in the casting mould, the magnetic inductor parameters, including position, width, length, magnetic field produced and its frequency, shape and velocity of the casting, are such that the tangential velocity achieved by the liq. steel is above 30 cm/sec., over a length of cast prod. of at least 20 cm. and at the same time, the tangential velocity of the steel at the free meniscus is not greater than 3.5 cm/sec.
