The invention concerns a device for anchoring a ladder to a building, particularly near a ledge such as that on a platform or balustrade. It is characterised in that it is formed from: - a support arm 7, with a horizontal axis, - means 5, 11, 12 of gripping the ledge 3, to which means the support arm 7 is fixed, - at least one hook 8, 9, hinged to the support arm 7 around an axis parallel to the axis of the said support arm 7, between two positions, in one of which it holds, via the ladder 2, the rung 10 nearest to the support arm 7 and a position in which it is raised and allows the rung 10 to be released.
