PURPOSE: To provide a thin drink can having the permittable yield strength, elastic modulus and creep resistance value, and suitable for the carbonated beverages, by providing a can body with a core made of a thermoplastic material, at least two film or sheet layers wound on the core with a specific angle, and a layer of a barrier material. CONSTITUTION: A can body comprises a core 1 of a thermoplastic material, and at least two layers of polyolefin material films or sheets 2, 3 bonded with the core 1, the film or sheet is monoaxially or biaxially oriented so that it has at least 55 MPa of tensile yield strength in a specific direction and at least 2760 MPa of elastic modulus in a specific direction, one of the layers is wound on the core with a positive angle (+α) relative to a vertical axis of the core, and the other layer is wound on the core with an almost corresponding negative angle (-α). The can body further comprises at least one layer of a barrier material, the can end faces are mounted on the can body, and the thickness of the can body is 2 mm or less. |
