PURPOSE:To prevent the development of breakout by arranging plural molten metal supplying nozzles at symmetrical positions in the specific distance range in the drawing direction as making the center part of a mold the center. CONSTITUTION:In a tundish 8, the center part of the water cooled mold 12 is made to the center and the plural molten metal supplying nozzles 10 are arranged in the range of 200mm to each drawing direction. As the molten metal supplying nozzle 10 are arranged at the symmetrical positions in the mold 12, respectively, the solidified shell 14 between the molten metal supplying nozzles 10 is formed as thin. By this method, the thin part of the solidified shell 14 comes to enlarge, and control of detaching point of the solidified shell 14 is facilitated. Therefore, the development of the breakout in a cast billet is surely prevented. |
