PURPOSE:To measure correctly the noise characteristic of a head with a simple means, in a short time by giving mechanical oscillation to forecast the oscillation due to the sliding of a magnetic tape to a head and measuring a noise. CONSTITUTION:A contact 9 connected to a piezoelectric vibrator 8 is pressed at a tape sliding surface 1a of a magnetic head 1 with a suitable bearing, the output cable of an oscillator 10 is connected to the piezoelectric vibrator 8 and the power source of the oscillation is supplied. Thus, the oscillation is given to the magnetic head 1, the noise to occur as an electric signal at a winding 3 of a magnetic core 2 is measured, and the noise characteristic of the magnetic head 1 for the oscillation is measured. Thus, the noise characteristic of the manufactured magnetic head 1 can be measured simply and rapidly. |
