PURPOSE:To perform transfer mixing an HDLC variable length packet and a non-HDLC fixed length packet by attaching an identifier including an error correction code and packet specification information on a packet cell as a cell header. CONSTITUTION:When a transmission request is issued to either signal lines 182, 192, and 202, a transmission control circuit 15 writes the value of a cell identification bit CID corresponding to one request out of the requests on a shift register 13. Simultaneously, a control signal is sent to a transmission clock selector 16 and a multiplexer 17 via a signal line 151. HDLC data can be mixed with the fixed length packet on the same line by using the packet cell accompanied by the cell identification bit CID. |
