PURPOSE:To form an image of stable image density without fog and scatter by combining nonmagnetic microcapsule toner and specific magnetic particles. CONSTITUTION:By the use of the magnetic particles 7 previously added with conductive metallic oxide fine powder having a resistivity of less than 10<7>OMEGA.cm on their surface coated with an electric insulating resin having a specific gravity of less than 6g/cm<3>, a magnetic brush is formed in the developing area 12 of a developer carrier 3 to that the existence of the magnetic particles 7 comes to 5-100mg/cm<2>. While the nonmagnetic toner 8 being a microcapsule coated with adhering material containing a compound possessing a hydrocarbon chain made of C more than C12 and particles containing a coloring agent is reciprocated between a latent image carrier 1 in the developing area 12 and the surface of the magnetic brush formed on the surface of a developer carrier 3, a latent image is developed. By interposing a small amount of magnetic particles 7 in the developing area, a high gradation, excellent image can be obtained without base fog and negative characteristics. |
