PURPOSE:To contrive a shortening of the total outputting time of a printing operation including a page-turning operation, by a system wherein a memory capable of storing printing data for one booklet form medium on a page basis is stored, data for pages received in an order different from the order of the pages are stored into corresponding areas on a page basis, and printing is conducted by fetching the stored data in the order of the pages. CONSTITUTION:One booklet form medium is taken out of a hopper 8, a cover which is the 0-th page is positioned at a printing position, the contents of a page memory 3 are completely cleared, and a value of '0' is set on a page counter 4. A controlling part 2 sequentially decode data received by a printing data receiving part 1 from a host computer, stores the data into the page memory 3, fetch the data for one page corresponding to the value on the page counter 4 from the page memory 3, stores the fetched data into a memory in the controlling part 2, and prints the data on the cover of the booklet. Next, the page counter 4 is incremented by '1', the booklet is positioned so that a page on the right side can be printed, and the above processing is repeated. The booklet is fed to an automatic page-turning mechanism 6 to turn the page, then the next page to be printed is positioned, and the above processing is repeated. In this manner, the booklet is printed with a minimum number of page- turning operations. |
