<p>PURPOSE:To provide a water ink compsn. having excellent lubricity and suitable for use as a ball point water ink, by dissolving 3-methylpentane-1,3,5-triol (monofatty acid ester) in an aq. soln. contg. a water-soluble dye. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble dye such as Eosine CH or Direct Deep Black EX, 0.5-20wt% (based on the total weight of the resulting water ink compsn.) 3-methylpentane-1,3,5-triol of the formula (wherein R is H, aliph. acyl) or its monofatty acid ester, optionally viscosity modifier such as ethylene glycol, surfactant, antiseptic, etc. are dissolved in water to obtain the desired water ink compsn. The resulting ink compsn. has excellent lubricity so that writing performance of a ball point pen, etc. is improved and the compsn. is effective in inhibiting wear of ball seat, etc.</p> |
