An audible warning device to assist the blind in finding a given location is activated by a radio-frequency push-button- operated transmitter located in a blind person's walking stick or pocket. The device is particularly intended for use at pedestrian crossings controlled by traffic lights, the audible warning being given by the device which is on the pedestrian traffic light when the light shows green and a signal is received from the transmitter.
