PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a work to release choking with sheet by a method wherein, when choking with a sheet is detected by a jam detecting switch, an intermediate part coupling means is actuated according to a kind of a sheet conveyance route in which a detecting switch is situated. CONSTITUTION:When, during a single-sided picture processing mode, a jam detecting switch situated in a sheet conveyance route A for single-sided processing detects a jam, solenoids 35a and 35b of intermediate part coupling means C1 and C2 are excited, and engagement of levers 37a and 37b with stays 38a and 38b is rendered ineffective. When an upper body 2 is lifted up, an intermediate part 3a remains at a base part 3b under gravity, and the conveyance route a is widely opened. Meanwhile, during a double-sided processing mode, when a jam detecting switch situated in a conveyance route B for double- side processing detects a jam, the intermediate part coupling means C1 and C2 are not released, and with an upper body 2 lifted up, the intermediate part 3a is simultaneously raised to widely open the conveyance route B. This constitution enables execution of easy and safe processing of a jam. |
