The force of inertia produced by an inertia mass 58 becomes larger than righting moment produced by a spring 60, and the inertia mass 58 moves downward to the piston rod assembly body 26. At this time, a chamfering edge 70 is exposed to open a radial directional passage 56, and to communicate a fluid body from a working chamber 50 to an annular chamber 52. Thereby characteristics for hardness of the shock absorber can be reduced.</p>
