<p>PURPOSE: To automatically change characteristics response to a predetermined set condition by providing inside a mass displaceable from a first position for closing a passage between an upper working chamber response to a predetermined acceleration of a shock absorber and a second position for opening the passage. CONSTITUTION: When a wheel assembled a shock absorber is hit to a projection at a strength less than a predetermined strength, a force for displacing upward is worked at a free end of the shock absorber, the force crosses a piston member to produce pressure difference. When the wheel is collided to the projection at over than the predetermined value of an acceleration of the piston rod assembly body 26, an inertia value device 53 is worked. The force of inertia produced by an inertia mass 58 becomes larger than righting moment produced by a spring 60, and the inertia mass 58 moves downward to the piston rod assembly body 26. At this time, a chamfering edge 70 is exposed to open a radial directional passage 56, and to communicate a fluid body from a working chamber 50 to an annular chamber 52. Thereby characteristics for hardness of the shock absorber can be reduced.</p> |
