This device comprises: a) an oblong-section tubular female component having a series of transverse undulations 10 on its two opposite large walls. This female component is embedded inside the ceiling unit 3, for example inside a pre-stressed concrete beam; b) a male component 2, the head 23 of which is provided with lateral notches 24, designed to support the covering 6 using a bracket 5 and which has a flat elongate stem 20 provided with two lateral sets of undulations matching those on the female component 1. The component 2 is locked into the component 1 by simply turning through 90 DEG after the stem 20 has been positioned in the tubular part of the component 1 at the desired height. <IMAGE>
