PURPOSE:To make on-machine coating possible by applying an ink accepting layer consisting of an amorphous silica as a pigment and alumina sol as an inorganic binder. CONSTITUTION:A coating liquid is prepared by blending an amorphous silica as a pigment and alumina sol as an inorganic binder into an organic binder. This coating liquid is applied on a support to form an ink-accepting layer. In this way, an ink jet recording paper is manufactured. The dosage of amorphous silica is about 0.80-11.0g/m<2> to the solid content of paint, preferably about 2.20-6.00g/m<2>. Alumina sol is an alumina hydrate with a colloidal size of about 5-200nm, and anions in water dispersed by polymer particles as a stabilizer. The dosage of alumina sol should preferably be about 0.10-0.30g/m<2> for the solid content of paint. |
