In a holder rack for plates, in particular catalyst plates, the top edges of the catalyst plates are free. The plates are supported, spaced out, by their opposite surfaces. In order to make possible expansion in three directions with a secure grip, the holder rack is provided with at least two comb strips 1 to 4 running parallel to each other, transversely to the plates 7. Between the comb teeth 6 are laid bridges 17 which rest on the comb backs 5. The plates 7 are placed on the bridges 17, their distance from the comb teeth 6 being kept and the plates being free on three edges. <IMAGE>
