<p>The process, for making a prod. similar to natural leather, for use in shoe mfr., consists of (a) selecting the separate types of leather cuttings, free from all extraneous material; (b) milling the dried leather cuttings, and adding tanning andre-tanning prods., lubricants, fatty acids and neutral materials in suitable proportions, to stabilise the pH and produce a de-fibred pulp in the form of a homogeneous paste; and (c) transferring the paste into a beater tank in which it is treated with water under pressure to eliminate extraneous particles.</p> |
