The invention pertains to an applicator head (1) for the manufacture of plastic film. The applicator head consists of an essentially cylindrical channel (5) delimited by an inner part (2) and an outer cylindrical surface (4), which channel shapes the molten plastic into a pipe. This pipe is expanded by means of an air flow via the inner part (2) such that it is stretched out into plastic film. The molten plastic is conducted to feeder locations (11) at the beginning of the cylindrical channel (5), from which the plastic is moved to steering grooves (12, 13) located at the beginning of the channel, which spread the molten plastic at a right angle along the entire width of the channel. The essence of the invention is that these steering grooves are arranged in pairs formed by steering grooves located beside each other such that one steering groove (12) in each pair constitutes the primary steering groove, which through a feeder point is in communication with one of the plastic's feeder channels (11), and the other steering groove (12) constitutes the secondary steering groove, which functions merely as a spreader of the plastic received by the primary steering groove. The number of feeder points (11) and channels that lead to them have half compared to the number of steering grooves (12, 13) that spread the plastic.<IMAGE>
