PURPOSE:To obtain stable Zr-containing Y-Ba-Cu-O based ceramics, having excellent superconductive phenomena and useful as various superconducting materials, etc., by blending Y with Ba, Cu, Zr and O so as to provide principal components. CONSTITUTION:Oxides of respective compositions of Y, Ba, Cu and Zr are blended so as to provide 70wt.% total amount of the respective elements and 1:2:3 atomic ratio of the respective elements Y:Ba:(Cu+Zr) and atomic ratio of 0<Zr/Cu<1. Thereby, a blended powder (A) is obtained. A flux (B) of an alkaline metal halide, etc., is then blended with the above-mentioned powder (A) and the resultant blend is calcined to afford powder (C) for sintering having <=1mum particle diameter distribution. The obtained powder (C) is then calcined at 500-950 deg.C and sintered at 850-1000 deg.C in air to produce the aimed Zr- containing Y-Ba-Cu-O based ceramics of the oxygen-deficient type layer perovskite structure. |
