The invention relates to a process for manufacturing a sausage type food product. It comprises an initial phase in which a tubular envelope, more particularly a natural or artificial casing, is filled with edible contents, more particularly a minced meat based composition, and a final phase in which one or more treatments are performed, more particularly steaming, drying, smoking or cooking, and before the final phase the edible contents are formed into a ring which is closed on itself. |
