A colour video signal provided by a television receiver, a video disc, or a video recorder is fed to an input terminal coupled to a burst gate circuit and to a separation circuit for obtaining a brightness signal and a chroma signal. The brightness signal is mixed with a second brightness signal provided by a brightness signal generator. The chroma signal is mixed with a second chroma signal provided by a chroma signal generator. The combined signals obtained from the two mixers are fed to an output mixer circuit providing the output signal.
