PURPOSE:To prevent a card from making contact with a part other than heat generating elements, by providing a head support base for supporting a thermal head and moving the head so that the heat generating elements provided at an end part of the head make sliding contact with the card placed on a card mount base. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 3 is an upright-type one, which is fixed by a head support base 4 so that heat generating elements 7 of the head 3 are directed to the center of an circular arc of a card mount base 2, and is pressed against a card 1, with a thermal recording ribbon 5 therebetween. The head support base 3 can be moved along the circular arc of the card mount base 2. With this construction, the card 1 is made to constantly make contact with the part of the heat generating elements 7 of the thermal head 3 in conformity with the circular arc, so that only the heat generating element 7 of the head 3 make contact with the card 1. Therefore, there is extremely low possibility of the card 1 making contact with a part other than the elements 7, and favorable thermal transfer recording can be achieved. |
