PURPOSE:To reduce cost, in a system where a display means is driven through a drive signal having content variable corresponding to operational parameters, by substituting a specific content for the content of drive signal when abnormal state is detected thereby enabling display of plural types of information through a single display means. CONSTITUTION:A pulse generator 1 for generating two pulses corresponding to rotation of crankshaft of an engine is provided, and generated pulse signals are inputted together with output signals from an atmospheric pressure sensor 14 and an intake air pressure sensor 16 to CPU 11. Ignition control is performed through CPU 11 and a display, i.e. an engine tachometer 22, is controlled. The engine tachometer 22 is constructed to provide a display corresponding to current being fed per unit time so as to display a higher engine rotation as rotation per unit time during which a switch 25 is closed increases. The switch 25 is controlled such that different engine rotations are displayed for abnormality such as removal of intake system piping and for fault of an intake pressure sensor 16. |
