Optical picture transmission system

An optical picture transmission system is specified for a non-flexible endoscope. The picture transmission system comprises a multiplicity of lens components. A spherical lens surface (3b, 4a, 4a', 3b') in the vicinity of the aperture diaphragm (5) of the optical system serves to correct the spherical aberration. An aspherical lens surface (3a) in the vicinity of the object has regions whose curvature decreases gradually with the distance of the regions from the optical axis when the medium on the entrance side of this surface has a smaller refractive index than the medium on the exit side. An aspherical lens surface (3a) in the vicinity of the refocused picture has regions whose curvature decreases gradually with the distance of the regions from the optical axis when the medium on the entrance side of this surface has a higher refractive index than the medium on the exit side. The optical picture transmission system can effectively correct astigmatism, spherical aberration, and other aberrations. A plurality of optical systems, arranged one behind the other, make it possible to view objects which are remote from the viewer endoscopically. <IMAGE>
