PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance of a fluid catalyst by spray-drying a slurry contg. a metal component and alumina as a carrier component wherein said slurry is pulverized by a wet process to >=0.35mum mean particle size, then calcining the spray-dried particles. CONSTITUTION:A slurry contg. alumina as carrier component and a metal component is pulverized until >=0.35mum mean particle size is attained, by a wet process. A fluid catalyst formed on alumina base carrier is produced by spray-drying the pulverized slurry and calcining. Preferred alumina for the carrier component is gamma-alumina, and preferred metal element in the metal component is Fe group metal in combination with Mn, or Fe group metal in combination with Mn and Pt group metal. Said metal component is carried by the alumina carrier usually in the formed of oxide. Although the method for pulverization is not critical, deterioration of wear resistance may occur when the mean particle size of pulverized particles exceeds 0.35mum. |
