PURPOSE: To improve the use convenience of a washing machine and to make it efficiently operable by allowing a water flow switching means to set an optimal stirring time according to the intensity of stirring. CONSTITUTION: In an initial state, the intensity of stirring becomes the set display of 'strong' (display part 2) and a stirring time is not set. At the time of operating a water flow switching switch 1 to turn the intensity of stirring to 'weak' and pressing a stirring time switching switch 5 from a stirring time non-setting state, '3 min' (display part 9) is displayed to operate for three min. After then, at the time of continually pressing the switch 5, the time can be switched to not-setting→15 min→10 min→5 min→3 min→... from the display of '3 min' in order as usual. Namely, the stirring time is selected according to the selection of stirring intensity by the switch 1 in the initial state. The optimal stirring time is easily set at the same time of the power setting of stirring by the water flow switching means and in a case when the combination of the intensity of stirring and time is not usual due to the pecuriality of wash, desired combination can be selected.
