PURPOSE:To easily grasp the number of actually used printing papers or the number of jammed papers, by a method wherein the number of sheets used in a test is not added to a printing paper counter for counting the number of printing papers, but is automatically added to a test printing counter, and in the occurrence of jamming the number is recorded in a jammed paper counter. CONSTITUTION:If a printing start key is turned ON, a printing paper counter 34 is selected, and the number of sheets discharged on the printing paper counter 34 is counted. On the other hand, if a test start key is turned ON, a test printing counter 35 is selected, and the number of sheets discharged on the test printing counter 35 is counted. As a result, the number of sheets used in a test is never added to the printing paper counter 34 and, thus, the number of printed papers can be correctly obtained. In the occurrence of jamming, the value in a counter inside paper path 33 is added to a jammed paper counter 36; thus, the need for making a note of the number of jammed papers is eliminated. |
