PURPOSE:To limit the number of large delay wires at the time of sector scanning in a Y-axis direction to the min. and to suppress the scale of the title apparatus, by providing vibrator selecting switches to respective vibrators to form the same into groups in a linear scanning direction being an X-axis direction and performing delay in the Y-axis direction by the outputs thereof. CONSTITUTION:When the constitution of n=3 is taken in a two-dimensional vibrator array wherein (n) vibrators are arranged in an X-axis direction and (m) vibrators are arranged in a Y-direction, change-over switches 2 are respectively connected to vibrator groups 1 and linear scanning is performed in the X-axis direction to set the calibers thereof to 5 elements. The other terminals connected to the vibrators of the change-over switches 2 are connected in common at every number of caliber elements, that is, at every 5 elements in the X-axis direction. Further, bundled wires are connected to the first variable delay wire and the focus in the X-axis direction is realized. The second variable delay wire 4 governs the focus in the Y-axis direction. The other terminal of the second variable delay wire 4 is guided to a transmitting circuit 9 and a receiving circuit 6 bundled in the Y-axis direction. The signal guided to the receiving circuit 6 is subjected to image processing to be displayed on a display 8. |
