PURPOSE:To prepare a medical prosthesis composed of a woven or knitted fabric having a coarse mesh size or a braid and excellent in fraying resistance, by spraying a fine powder to the surface of a fiber forming material to cut at least a part of the fibers constituting the fiber forming material to form a feather and applying the interlacing treatment due to a high speed fluid to the cut fibers. CONSTITUTION:In a prosthesis, a woven or knitted fabric or braid may be formed of a simple structure or extremely complicated structure and a fiber is pref. formed from filament yarn but, according to circumstances, staple yarn may be used. As the polymer used as the fiber, polyester such as polyethylene terephthalate or polybutylene terephthalate and a copolymer thereof are especially pref. As a means spraying a fine powder, a jet treatment apparatus using compressed air or high pressure liquid stream or a projection apparatus utilizing centrifugal force is pref. Next, as an interlacing treatment method due to high pressure fluid treatment, a method using a liquid is more efficient and, especially, a method using a water jet stream is pref. from the aspect of safety and economical efficiency. |
