<p>PURPOSE:To increase pad surface pressure in a region having a small braking force and to reduce brake noise by providing plural pairs of pads and putting a certain pair of pads in a non-operating state when the brake liquid pressure is smaller than a fixed value. CONSTITUTION:Pads 5a-5d are respectively fitted to projecting end surfaces of pistons 4a-4d in cylinders 3a-3d, and the pads 5a and 5b and the pads 5c and 5d are paired. The cylinders 3a, 3b are directly connected to a brake liquid pressure generating device, and the cylinders 3c, 3d are connected to the brake liquid pressure generating device through a pressure control valve 6. When the brake liquid pressure is smaller than a reference value, the pressure control valve 6 is closed. Accordingly, at this time, the pair of pads 5c, 5d are not operated, so that braking is conducted only by the pair of pads 5a, 5b.</p> |
