Conventionally, cash-drawer arrangements contain a drawer in which usually the hard cash is accommodated in the front region and the bank notes are accommodated in the rear region. At a check-out work station with an integrated cathode-ray tube within the appliance insert, there is only a small space depth which cannot receive a drawer of this type. Two cash drawers, one for hard cash and one for bank notes, are arranged one under the other and coupled to one another in such a way that the lower cash drawer covers approximately double the pull-out distance of the upper one. The cash-drawer arrangement is used predominantly when space depths in check-out work stations are restricted.
