PERIPHERAL-TYPE BENZODIAZEPINE RECEPTOR ASSOCIATED PROTEINS,CLONING, EXPRESSION AND METHODS OF USE

The present invention relates to nucleic acids encoding PBR-associated proteins (PAPs) and methods for use in producing PAPs and methods of using PAPs. In this study we have identified proteins (PAPs) that interact with PB R protein by a yeast two-hybrid system. We used PBR as bait to screen a mouse testis cDNA library. Five clones were isolated based on their ability to interact with PBR. These proteins may be involved in the regulation of the function of PBR, serving as an endogenous ligand or allosteric modulator of the receptor.
