摘要 PURPOSE:To enable a sharp image to be recorded with high density even at a very small amount of heat energy and obtain high-sensitivity thermosensitive recording material almost free from head waste by providing an undercoat layer containing cross-linking starch under a thermosensitive recording layer in a thermosensitive recording material consisting of the thermosensitive recording layer laid on a support. CONSTITUTION:A thermosensitive recording material consists of an undercoat layer provided on a support, on which a thermosensitive color developing layer containing an electron donating leuco dye and an electron accepting compound as main components. The preferable consumption of cross-linking starch is at least one part per 100pts. of pigment. However, there are particularly no upper limits. Alternatively, cross-linking starch solution and salt may be used as coating material. The preferable application amount of the undercoat layer is at least 2g/m<2> which is considered to be significantly effective. The undercoat layer containing cross-linking starch makes a thermosensitive recording material with high coloring developing density and causing substantially no waste adhesion.
