PURPOSE:To prevent a printing paper from being cut, by providing a plate cylinder-driving system with at least one clutch so as to provide each printing unit with an independent driving system, and providing a clutch on the side of a paper feeder so that each printing unit can be singly rotated forward and reversely. CONSTITUTION:In order that the driving of a plate cylinder 02 in a printing unit 01 is independent from the driving of a plate cylinder 02' in other printing unit 01', a driving system is provided with at least one clutch 04 and independent drive sources 05. With this construction, each of the printing units 01, 01' is set into a singly drivable condition after disengagement of the clutch 04, resulting in that a plate replacing operation can be performed independently for each of the printing unit. A printing paper is paid out by a paper feeder, and when the printing units 01, 01' are set into the singly drivable condition, a clutch or the like provided on the side of the paper feeder is disengaged, so that the paper is not moved. Therefore, the paper is prevented from being cut, regardless whether the plate cylinder 02 is rotated forward or reversely. |
