PURPOSE:To prevent a stripped pattern due to interference from appearing in an image by projecting coherent light with such light intensity that the width of variation in the surface potential of the exposure part of a reversal development system is within a specific range. CONSTITUTION:The light attenuation curve of an electrophotographic sensitive body in use is utilized and part of the curve where the gradient is gentle is used. Consequently, the width of variation in surface potential accompanying the interference of light generated by the multipath reflection of light incident on a photosensitive layer by a charge generation layer 1 and a charge transfer layer 2 is reduced to <=+ or -20V. When the variation width of the potential is <=+ or -20V, the appearance of the striped pattern due to the interference in a developed image can be suppressed. |
