Fluorierte C4- bis C6-Kohlenwasserstoffe werden hergestellt, indem man zumindest teilweise halogenierte, entsprechende Olefine katalytisch in Gegenwart einer Base hydriert. Neue, auf diese Weise erhältliche fluorierte C5- und C6-Kohlenwasserstoffe und die Verwendung von fluorierten C4- bis C6-Kohlenwasserstoffen als Treibgas oder Arbeitsflüssigkeit für Wärmepumpensysteme sind ebenfalls von der Erfindung umfaßt.
