PURPOSE:To easily attach and detach a photosensitive drum without staining an operator's hands by fitting the photosensitive drum into the fitting recesses of an image forming case from below and making selective use of the detaining and releasing of latches. CONSTITUTION:The recesses 30b into which both end shafts of the photosensitive drum 4 can be fitted from below are provided to the side plates on the front and rear sides of the image forming case 30. The latches 31 which can position and restrain bearing parts 4a of both end shafts of the drum 4 fitted into said recesses 30b and can release the restraint as well are provided to the two side plates of the image forming case 30. Furthermore, the life of a cleaning unit 20 or the drum 4 is detected and the drum is stopped after one sheet of copying paper is fed just before a fixing section by executing a paper feeding operation upon ending of an ordinary image forming stage when the life thereof terminates. The staining of the operator's hands at the time of the drum exchange is thus obviated by the simple constitution. |
