The invention concerns an individual protective device comprising: a unit (16) portable by the operator (18), and including a plurality of radio transmitters associated with transmitting antennae for transmitting coded radio signals according to a predetermined sequence; a plurality of radio receivers (R1, A2, R3) placed beneath a protective tower (12) and equipped with directional reception antennae (A1, A2, A3), distributed to generate an elongated selective electromagnetic radiation lobe (LR) in the forward moving direction of the conveyor (10); a safety module (S) equipped with a test transmitter to control the operating conditions of the receivers (R1, R2, R3); and a decoding circuit co-operating with an actuator to stop the conveyor (12) driving means when the operator (18) passes in said radiation lobe (LR). |
