PURPOSE:To ease a patient and facilitate operations by using a resectoscope having a viewfinder tube and a cold knife, both to be placed in a sheath. CONSTITUTION:A cold-cutting resectoscope 21 is inserted into a bladder through the urethra under observation through a fiberscope. If a tumor is found in the bladder through a viewfinder, the resectoscope is put properly close to it, and a cold knife 27 is pushed out of the tip of a sheath 22 until the opening 61 of the knife is positioned on the tumor. The tumor is cut little by little by the knife urged by a spring 44. When bleeding occurs at cuts of tissue, a handle 24, connected with the cold knife 27 and the viewfinder tube 26, is pulled out with the sheath 22 left in the urethra. Then, the handle 24, fitted with a styptic electrode in place of the cold knife, is inserted into the sheath 22 to stop bleeding by radio-frequency heating. |
