Oxidation dyes with 2-amino-5-methylphenol

The invention relates to agents for dyeing keratinous fibres, containing the following dye intermediates in a cosmetically acceptable medium: (A) 2-amino-5-methylphenol; (B) at least one p-aminophenol derivative; and (C) at least one coupler component, selected from the following: (c1) the m-aminophenol derivatives and (c2) the pyridine derivatives. The inventive agents produce particularly intensive orange colours with excellent fastness characteristics and are also characterised by their extremely good toxicological characteristics.
