The invention relates to a pneumatic vehicle tyre which is produced in a vulcanising mould and has additives which increase the roughness of its tread. In order to avoid the driving behaviour of the tyre changing when the latter is received new from the factory and put into operation and then becomes worn, when in a new unused state the said tyre has, on the basis of the invention, a tread with a roughness which corresponds to that of the partially worn tread, the roughness being expediently produced by a plurality of small projections in the tread of the tyre.
