PURPOSE:To provide a thermal spraying material having a composition hard to work into a strip-like metallic body by laminating two or more kinds of strip-like metallic bodies into a clad material and also regulating the compositions and thicknesses of respective metals so that required composition of the coating layer of thermal spraying metal is obtained. CONSTITUTION:Two or more kinds of strip-like metallic bodies, e.g., of Al and Zn, are laminated by means of pair rolling, etc., so as to be formed into a clad material. The initial thicknesses of respective strip-like metallic bodies as constituents are selected so that respective thicknesses of the above strip-like metallic bodies as constituents after pair rolling can be regulated to the prescribed values, respectively, while taking the alloy component ratio of the desired thermal spraying layer into account. This multilayer thermal spraying material can be applied to arc spraying. By this method, the thermal spraying material composed of a material having an alloy composition hitherto considered to be impossible to use as thermal spraying material can be manufactured. |
