PURPOSE:To improve lateral rigidity and torsional rigidity of a leaf spring made of fiber reinforced plastics, and improve rolling characteristic of a vehicle by forming the leaf spring made of fiber reinforced plastics into a laminated structure, and combining layers having different material characteristics. CONSTITUTION:A leaf spring 1 made of fiber reinforced plastics is constituted in combination of, as viewed in section, upper and lower surface layers 1a and 1b, side surface layers 1c and 1d, and a central layer 1e, each of the layers having different material characteristics. The surface layers 1a and 1b include a carbon fiber cross material C1 formed on carbon fibers C arranged at an angle of 45 deg. with respect to the longitudinal direction of the leaf spring 1. Further, the side surface layers 1c and 1d include a carbon fiber unidirection material C2 formed of carbon fibers C arranged at an angle of 0 deg. with respect to the longitudinal direction of the leaf spring 1, and the central layer 1e includes a glass fiber unidirection material G2 formed of glass fibers G arranged at an angle of 0 deg. with respect to the longitudinal direction of the leaf spring 1. Thus, a matrix plastics M is reinforced by these reinforcing fibers. |
