PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent cosmetic for hair and skin, having light touch, high adhesiveness and retaining power, providing natural appearance free from greasiness, containing an copolymer of a specific polyoxyalkylene derivative unit and a maleic acid unit. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic containing a copolymer having the ratio of use of a polyoxyalkylene derivative shown by the formula [B is residue of compound having 2-8 OH groups; AO is 2-18C oxyalkylene; R<1> is 2-5C unsaturated hydrocarbon group or unsaturated acyl group; R<2> is 1-40C hydrocarbon group; a, b and c are 0-1,000 and sum of a, b and c is 1-3,000; l=1-8; m=0-2; n is 0-7; l+m+n=2-8 and m/(l+n)<=1/3] and a maleic acid unit selected from maleic anhydride, maleic acid, salt and ester thereof of 7:3-3:7 by equivalent ratio based on polymerizable double bond and 1,000-2,000,000 weight-average molecular weight. |
