PURPOSE: An instantaneous crank transmission of a reciprocating engine is provided to improve the thermal efficiency of the engine by varying the combustion pressure and volume of the instantaneous crank transmission. CONSTITUTION: In an instantaneous crank transmission of a reciprocating engine, a driving elliptical gear(3) is fixed on a driving crank shaft(1). A driven elliptical gear(4) is engaged with the driving elliptical gear(3), and has the same long and short radiuses and a focal distance as the driving elliptical gear(3). The driven elliptical gear(4) is fixed on a driven shaft(2) installed parallel with the driving crank shaft(1).
